Default Need Some Help

I bought a used S2000 (01) and the guy that had it before my had the OEM air intake box just thrown back in. I'm assuming he had an intake before. So i unscrewed it from the throttle body took of the bog hose and took it off the valve cover and the whole thing came off. Now, underneath this, i found an original plug. It is a circle type head plug and it isnt plugged into anything. I first assumed it went somewhere on the OEM box but i dont see anywhere for it to go. It kind of runs half way along from the driver side to the center of the car along that "support" bar. ANyone have a clue what this is? Am I maybe missing another piece from this OEM box? Any help is appreciated.

If you can take pic, It would help identifying your mystery plug. I'm pretty sure it's to the Air pump control solenoid, which should be attached to the stock airbox with 1 phillips screw.

So there is something besides the hose going to the valve cover and the other big hose attaching onto the airbox. where exactly does this thing you're talking about screw into? And if thats the case, what do people do with it if they put an intake in their S?

MB06, I'm going to amend your title a bit so that it is more descriptive. This will help others to "search" it out later and draw more attention to your thread.

As for this "thing" you found, do it resemble anything in this thread:

no like if i had to guess and say there was no motor in the car and i was gonna put it back, id assume it was the map sensor plug or something. In i think V4 of your pic, there you see a thick wire loom going along the support of the car and on the far left a skinnier wire loom going up. Where is the skinny one going?

It's hard for me now to go and trace anything in that area as my supercharger fills that space and hides everything down there.
However, are you talking about the smooth skinny tube that's coming out of that black object or the ribbed tube (which is the protective sheath of a wiring bundle)? Smooth tubes are either vacuum tubes or air hoses. Is the thing you are trying to point out to us smooth or ribbed?

OK, I think I may have it. It could be this plug in the following pic. I'm holding it under my thumb and as you can see, it's plugged into that object that has those 2 vacuum hoses coming out of it.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a CEL with that harness not plugged in.
