Default New clutch installed - and screwed up...

Recently I had the TSB for a 2001 clutchbuzz. After working on my car all day, I was told that they had "installed the throwout arm backwards..." and my car would need another 1/2 day to complete.

My questions are:

Is it even possible to install this part backwards?

Can any damage have been caused as a result of trying to do so? (They say they never started the car with it installed worng.)

Just how incompetent are the mechanics who did this(!) - isn't a clutch replacement fairly straight forward?

Any other comments are welcome.

Thanks!

Yeah I guess it is possible and I would think you figure it out about the time you try to remount the slave cylinder and things don't match up. The mechanic was not paying attention so they will have to remove the transmission and turn it around. No damage incurred just a dumb ass delay... but yes, you do have to wonder about the skill level assigned to your car.
