Default New Lower End

Stupidly I didn't check my oil level and yada yada you all know the story, I blew the motor. Brought it to Joey at Westborough Arco in South San Francisco and he was able to see that that I cracked a bearing. They replaced it but unfortunately the damage had already been done to the crankshaft. The journal for cylinder 3 had been messed up and now with the new bearing the motor begins to knock at around 4k+. Everything else is ok with the car and the valve train was inspected and everything.

I don't want to swap in a new motor for 2 reasons. First its too expensive, obviously. Second the head is built up with BC stage 2 cams, valve springs etc, and the valves were adjusted no more than 7k ago.

I am also fairly mechanically inclined (which makes this even more of a frustrating problem), most of my experience has been with taking apart my motorcycle plenty of times and putting it back together, so I feel fairly confident taking on this project myself.

Has anyone here replaced a crankshaft before? It seems like it would be a smarter route just trying to find a shortblock and swapping heads? Does anyone have a shortblock they need to get rid of?
