I changed my oil in my S2000 on Monday with Mobil1 and noticed the box said new Super Syn. I was just reading the details on the Mobil website on what is different. Here is the link http://www.mobil1.com/supersyn/index.jsp

 

Interesting. The latest API Service Classification, SL (supersedes SJ) just went into effect recently. As I recall, when SJ came out, Mobil 1 oils started being labeled "Tri-Synthetic". I'd assume that the new "SuperSyn" buzzword heralds their first SL-compliant products. As for how much difference there actually is in the new formulation, only ExxonMobil knows.

I'm sure it's (still) a great oil though.
