I would suggest a search for each item because there is a lot of info on each.

If your going to spend that kind of money, I would suggest a speedcraft turbo with a custom 3" exhaust, and a standalone fuel management system. Then upgrade the diff, axles, and clutch.

That would be awesome.

Drive it. Learn it. Enjoy it.

Then decide what you'd like to change.

Comptech is a good brand. They were the first supercharger to come out for the S2K. Now Vortech makes one too that has an intercooler, runs more boost and supposedly puts out more power. (Waiting for independent dynos.) The comptech had a couple of problems with cracked brackets, but I think this is fixed now. Like I said the speedcraft turbo would be your best bet if you are planning on spending all that money. Supercharger - $4500 Turbo - $6200 + some extras. The turbo puts out more power (especially if properly tuned) It comes with its own custom header so this almost offsets the cost of a supercharger, and it makes more low end power. The superchargers dont give power until VTEC. Do a search on each of these options and you will see the differences.

Hi,

I'm also a little new to this and looking to improve the lower end of the revs, Are you absolutely sure that the supercharger only gives power in the VTEC range? I was under the impression (before I started searching this forum) that the supercharger would give more increase evenly across (as in theory it'd always be working?) as opposed to a Turbo which would kick in later due to lag... am I completely mis-understanding all this?

Thanks,

Pt.

In some cars. The superchargers for the S2K are both centrifugal and don't reach max boost until redline. You have very little extra power down low. The speedcraft turbo on the other hand reaches boost by 3000 rpms giving you more usable power down low where it is needed in the S2K. You are thinking of the roots type superchargers that build boost quickly. MG Racing was working on a supercharger like this but Tim has fallen into bad times and I do not know the future of the supercharger.
