Ok, Ok, the purpose is nothing "special". It is my daily ride. No track races no shows, etc. I just want to take really good care of it considering I like to drive it relatively hard (like its meant to be driven). I'm thinking i'd like to do some of the lesser expensive mods that would help out the overall longevity and every day performance. I'm toying with the idea of putting money into something that would boost NA HP/TQ, but i don't know what that would even be.

OK, you just want a sweet street car to be proud of - cool.
You don't need any brake upgrades unless it's like Rick's powder coating for show. You don't need any gearing changes. You don't need a header, just maybe a nice looking exhaust with a throaty note. You don't need a cold air intake, find the heat insulation thread. You probably want Rick's center console cover for show. Maybe some ground effects if their to your taste. Drop in speaker upgrades are easy and nice. The rest is good stock in my opinion.

Ooops, missed something - Scottsdale, Arizona in your signature means thermostat, thermoswitch and high pressure radiator cap to lower coolant temp 15 degrees. $160 & DONE.

The Spoon rad cap, thermoswitch and thermostat was a 3 piece group buy @ $160. You can PM Mingster, e-mail MG Racing or e-mail King Motor Sports for 2 Mugen versions of the 3 items, no thermoswitch. Then when your under your car pulling the old thermostat out you'll get an S2K coolant baptism and become a true S2K owner.

Where does the thermoswitch install? Is it as bad as the thermostat? I've already got the Mugen radiator cap and thermostat in, but I missed out on the thermoswitch.

Thanks,

Ted

Mugen does not sell the thermoswitch. It screws into the bottom, drivers side of the radiator and engages the fan 11 degrees sooner. Mingster's got 'em.

Thermoswitch goes in the back of the radiator. You have to remove the clips holding the bottom plastic shield to get at the switch. Not too bad...but I didn't think that installing the thermostat was too hard, either.

I am running the thermoswitch, thermostat and (hopefully, soon) the radiator cap. I have 20-25% antifreeze with distilled water, along with WaterWetter. It knocked my engine temperatures way down.

With the stock equipment and the front grill cover installed, I occasionally saw 4 bars; when I would leave work, the car would already be sitting at 3 bars after sitting for 4 hours. Now, I occasionally see the gauge dip down to 2 bars when I am cruising at high speed. I no longer get hesitation and stumbling in stop and go traffic, either.

I think I already had this conversation w/a real person but why didn't Honda do this? Is there something to be gained by turning the fan on later?

And yes...I understand how incredibly old this thread is
