Default Nippon Filter?

So I didn't do a whole lot of research when buying my oil filter and found this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...rksid=p3907.m29

In hindsight I should have asked first, but are these filters ok to use with our cars? I know it's not the Tokyo M. brand but has anyone used these Nippon made filters?

Thanks!

Do you know the part number on the filter? If you give us that we can tell you if they're OK to use on the car (or you can read the FAQ and find out yourself ).

You won't know if they cause any problems until you do a used oil analysis after using them.

I wouldn't risk a $5000 engine on a filter who's name means "Japan"

In talking to a engineer from Amsol, we shared that fact that our motors run 85PSI oild pressure at 3K and that we rev to 9K. He asked what was done to the motor, because it surely was not stock. We asured him it was and he did the math at what the oil pressure would be at 9K. He said their current filters that would fit our car would be in by-pass the bulk of the time. So that means no filtering of the oil.

Just use the OEM oil filter and save that 5K motor that revs to 9K. You will feel better in the morning if you do.

OME oil filter is the most preferable choice. K&N and MOBIL 1 are also acceptable. If one has extra $$$ Mugen is probably the most expensive one that I know.

at around $6 each, engineered specifically for the S2000, proven by UOA, I don't know why anyone would be searching for something other than OEM...
