Nitrous
I recently put a zex system in my S2, currently I have the 55 jet installed. It feels like it gave me about 25-30hp, I'm using a bottle heater and even warming it up for a half an hour or so. There is a strait in my neighborhood where I would normally reach 80mph. With the nos I hit about 85mph or less. Does this sound about right?
I would like to put an 75-100 shot, but I can't seem to find a cheap way to retard the timing. What would be the best way to do this including an in the tank high volume fuel pump? Keep in mind this is a lease; what ever I do know I need to be able remove easily.
Anyone out there know how much slower the S2 with the roof down as compared to being up (acceleration, top speed whatever)? How does the governor come into play? Is it a timing retarder? Does 6th hit redline?
Any help is much appreciated, as you can see I just got the car. I came out of 3 consecutive C5 Vettes, I got sick of the interior, it was time for a new car. Love the S2, definitely the most under estimated car on the street. I have a new M3 also which feels no faster between 20-120MPH. Although the Vettes are definitely faster than both.

msd and crane make a couple of products that retard ignition timing. check their websites for for info. run one atleast a step colder plugs. while youre upgrading, make sure you do your fuel pump, regulator and filter while youre at it for anything more then a "75 hp shot" of n20. a j&s knockgaurd would be a good investment as would a rpm and fuel pressure cutoff switches. they will help your big n20 system run "safer"
I called MSD and they told me that they don't know if anything they have will work with an S2. What does the j&s knockgaurd do? Do you know of any specific products to retard the timing? Thanks for the reply

Our ECUs have knock sensors that are the equivalent of the "microphone" setup. No need for another product that does the same. If you need to retard timing on a more permanent basis, these aren't the products you should be looking at anyway.

the knock senor's in honda's are notoriously inefective. they're retard timing to late. a j&s knockgaurd is alot faster acting. an ignition retarding device from crane and msd will pul back timing right when teh n20 is hit. thats the big plus. it retards before knock.
timing retarding devices are relativly cheap. and IMO a reliable n20 system can be put 2gether for relativly cheap.
example
75hp n20 kit $599
fuel pump and regulator $500
colder plugs $50
rpm and fuel cut off switches $400
that's a total of $1549
which is pretty cheap IMO. that's the price of an exhaust and filter on a s2k.
i've said it many times before. n20 engine failures happen because of human/tuner error. if you stay "safe" you'll be fine. you need to buy a box of plugs and jets. head to teh strip , jet relativly rich and cheap checking your plugs for fouling and just gradually back off teh fuel. don't go to much because your car will run better and better untill it blows. keep checking your plugs for lean conditions. in my opinion if you tune this way. you can have a pretty reliable n20 system for cheap. and that's MY OPINION.
