as for the rain situation, im stumped, pcv valve ok? any other mods done to it, like a spoon, or maybe the iac? not sure, would like to know the diagnosis on this
IACV is for idle control. Honda idle control stops working once it sees more than 1% throttle position and re-activates 600ms after rpm drops past the preset idle speed....(hence the slight drop in rpm past idle when u let go of the throttle.)
the car is completely stock other than the CAI....... and a strut tower bar...
^Lol, im with that one.. but still, its kind of scary knowing that youre capped at 6K on a car that makes almost no power til 6...
have you ever tried running a diagnostic on it while it was raining?
Oh, how about spraying the car down (totally) after its warmed up on a dry day - that way you can take out "humid air" as the cause, or, call it as the problem...?

can i make a silly suggestion here... maybe there is excessive resistance from the temp guage to the ecu. therefore temp gauge reads normal, but ecu reads as the engine is cold. moisture may cause this resistance?
idk in theory it sounds good?

too many to quote here....thanx for those who responded....
for those who replied with "try this, try that, etc etc"
i'm waiting for my real-time OBD2 scanner.... until then, i can't give you anymore answers than i already know...
for those who replied "intervention, crashing, etc etc"
keep in mind that i have "downgraded" in terms of power.
i used to drive(and still drive) a 400+whp/300+tq daily.....which is double of what the S can output. i've also driven countless RWD cars around circuits and drift tracks that are all in the "700+" club. so RWD+power is not a problem for me. the S is actually harder to let the tail out than i would like it to be..... for the "700" club i just lay on it and it comes out by itself!
when it really comes down to it, you just have to respect the machine regardless of what power you have.
but yes, as much knowledge i have with Hondas, i'm quite stumped at this one. **scratches head constantly**
