You can buy a leakdown test kit at Harbor Freight for like $40. It consists of a gauge or two, manifold and valve addembly. It will probably have instructions. Or just search the internet for procedure.

In addition to the tester itself, you will also need access to a source of pressurized air. An air compressor is fine, you'll need about 70-100 psi to pressurize each cylinder. You'll also need to remove the spark plugs and be able to rotate the engine to TDC for each cylinder before pressurizing the combustion chamber.

I would still do a leakdown in this case.

i had 66% leak in cylinder 3...

but i STILL pulled in vtec.

of course, i fixed my leak, i had warped valve guides and warped valves. i relapped the face of the valves...and got new guides. so all should be well...i should do another comp and leakdown to be sure.

good luck.

...

did you check your tune? sounds like your timing isn't right. might have a boost leak as well on one of the hoses.

seems like everyone is jumping at the mechanical problem instead of looking at the tune.

or does that not apply with comptech supercharger? Don't you run a piggyback with the CT SC?

That doesn't sound like a misfire.

I'm no expert on this, but it sounds like a bad chain tensioner. There's another post on this site with a link to a video of a car with a bad tensioner. Compare it to your sound and see what you think.

A bad chain tensioner shouldn't throw misfire CEL however.
