Default O2 simulator and receive error code "P0153 "O2 sensor slow response and CEL

Hi

I installed my wideband and I use the O2 narrow band simulator.
Now I receive a "check engine light" and the ODBII trouble code is "P0153 "O2 sensor slow response""

Any suggestions ??

Mike

There are a few good threads mostly leading to the fact that there has yet to be a perfect solution for an O2 sim for the S2000. I'm curious, which sim you are running?

Mainly just skim for cbender's posts (thread is many pages long) as he ends up being the important piece of this post.

I tried the Casper's unit, and it didn't work. Based on a lot of people having success with the Lake Performance simulator, I bought one of those, but haven't installed it yet.

This one is different because it simulates the "real" narrow band
data. It is using the data from the wideband sensor and "narrow" it. The advantage is that if you have a real "lean" condition it will report it to the ECU and the ECU will act according to the readout.

I don't see how that is any advantage. If there is a real lean condition, the Primary O2 sensor will detect it. Does the ECU use the Secondsary O2 sensor for anything other than checking the cat?

Ohhh ... sorry.... did not mention that I replaced the primary o2 sensor with my NGK wideband sensor.

And it works fine except that the ECU tells me about a slow response.
