The '06 has OBDIII. It uses Bluetooth technology. If you don't have an OBDIII diagnostic tool, then you're SOL.

Good luck with that.

EDIT:

For those of you who did not get my joke :cough: above :cough:...this is the official "It was a joke" edit.

Where did you hear that?

There has been no new emmisions system OBD III. there has been speculation on what will be included in the next standard, including some "big brother" aspects.

My OBDII reader doesn't have a problem comunicating with an 06.

The High speed CAN protocol KW2000 is becoming the emmisions diagnostic standard, and was phased in on MY04 as the emmsions test interface.

What is the brand and model of your OBDII reader that you have proven to work on the '06? I need to get one ASAP. Thanks.

My OBD II reader is a bit to pricey for most. Unless you work on honda's every day, I wouldn't reccomend it.

"big brother" that's exactly what I meant by interesting. What I read said OBDIII maybe manditory on 2008 vehicles.

BTW thanks for the info.

Teradyne supplies the flaming POS HDS tablet tester. It's overpriced, impossible to read unless you are inside the shop, and too big to use comfortably inside a car.

The Pocket tester has all the functionality the tablet doesn't have.

Figure $2500 to get one.

My little Matco quick-scan was around $550 and covers CAN.
