Default Obd2 Scan tool options

Im looking for a decent priced scan tool and code reader. I like the idea of reading trip fuel economy info, real time information, and reading codes. Are there any other standalone gauges that are reasonably priced?

Just heard of this one yesterday - Car MD. Don't know if it's any good or not.

If you have an android phone, there is an application (Torque) that is free with ads or about $5 to purchase. It integrates with Bluetooth OBD-II dongles that are available on eBay for about $30.

The advantages of this setup (other than the fact that it's cheap) are that you can customize the display, it integrates with your phone's GPS for trip, travel, and SS 1/4 data, you can download custom codes and add to the display (I haven't tried this yet), you can transfer data logs to your phone or PC, it integrates with your phone's accelerometers and displays acceleration along all three axes, and did I mention it's cheap!

FYI the Ultragauge updates once a second. Could be fine for some people, but I bet it can be a pain if you're trying to do realtime monitoring of MPG or something.

Auterra shows much more parameters, updates faster, does datalogging and alarms.
it's more expensive, more bulky and very difficult mount neatly as input wire(s) connects from the bottom.
