Octane Boost...
Quick question for the local physicists. In my other car (quarter mile queen) I only fill the tank to a quarter at most, gas is heavy and the tank will hold 20 gallons so I save a lot of weight. I am running about 18psi of boost on the turbo and would like to use some of the 104 Octane Boost, but it says to only add it to a full tank. What would be the ill effects to adding it to just a quarter tank or less of gas? Wasted gas? Something more sinister? Please advise.
Thanks guys

I've heard that it can change the burning properties of the fuel so much that it can induce detonation rather than prevent it!
My mechanic was telling me about this guy who mixed 5 bottles of it into a full tank of petrol thinking that each bottle he added kicked up the Octane by the 1-5 points the bottle claimed. (After the first one, he was doing nothing but changing the composition of the fuel!) The idiot didn't even make it a full lap before losing his engine.
I have 2 questions for you:
1) Why do you want to raise your octane, unless you have detonation issues? Higher Octane /= Higher Power unless it's properly tuned for it.
2) What's wrong with using a 1/4 of a bottle at a time? Nobody said you can't put the cap back on after pouring a 1/4 bottle in.

1. Better safe than sorry, and with the boost I'm running I really don't want to tango with that tiger.
2. I'm reading that from a molecular standpoint the Octane Boost 104 only adds .3 octane to a gallon of gas, so I think I'd be quite safe adding a single bottle to 5 gallons.
I hate it when I answer my own questions...lol.
Thanks for the reply dude.
