Smile Odometer Display PROBLEMS!

Does anyones 06 S2000 odometer start to have gaps after driving about an hour consistently in the freeway. Even sooner during a hot summer day.

here are some pics taken with my Treo.

It usually start with the middle digit having gaps then the ones digits. But say i come to a complete stop, like exiting the freeway, the middle digit would return to normal (without the gaps), then hop back on the freeway and drive consistently for less then 10 min it starts to happen again! For the ones digit to return to normal i'd have to restart the car.

Took it to the dealer last week and they changed the whole dash display.
Next day it STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN! So i dropped off my car again today at 7 am and they are keeping it over night because they have no idea what the problem. You guys got any clue what the F*#k the problem??

Probably low voltage. Check the battery and alternator.

yeah that what i told them to look for, I also told them to check for an external unit from the Display that controls/converts milage for problems. But hey what do i know. Its a huge inconvenience, i've been to the dealer about 10 times in 2 weeks because of this.

Honda slacking off with the 06. For example every 06 (i personally checked "7" S2Ks) has gaps on the rear right bumper, or the gap above the drive right vent and the dealer explanation for this was "It is a characteristic of the car.".

As for my car specific I had problems with my trunk latch (which was replace), driver seat loose, and my odometer.

But ohh well its still a DOPE car!

The rear bumper defect is not isolated to just the 06 model. All the the 2004, 2005, 2006 models that I've seen have that defect. I have it too on my 2005 model. There's a thread about it in the "Tell Honda" forum.

and '00 thru '03, so that makes it the entire model run. It is a common fitment issue for a few reasons.

1. There are limited attachment points/clips along the seam
2. The ABS material flexes and changes shape depending on temp conditions
3. Design flaw that might have been addressed if it had a Acura badge and cost 15k more (haha)

I've seen a few posts over the years about gaps in the readouts.....with little results in fixing it. Good luck!!
