Thumbs up OEM RollBar hoops

and then re-attached over the metal bars?

Recently had my soft-top replaced and the shop that did it pryed the plastic covers off the metal hoops rather than just taking the whole hoops out.

So when they tried to put them back together I guess they realized they made a boo boo... and tried to hide their mistake with this big thick black caulking glue. Sure enough sitting in my garage all winter the glue came loose and I put my top down the other day to find them separated with this thick black glue all over in there.

from what I could see the other day, the clips that hold them together over the metal hoop are busted.

I don't want parts glued together on my car. Am I right in making the shop replace them with new un-damaged ones or can the plastic covers be re-attached to the metal hoops after they have been pryed off?

The plastic will never go back together, they will need to be replaced.

ahah, thats what I heard on here before but they don't believe me so they are phoning honda canada to ask.

That was a costly mistake for them considering they will have to buy new ones. Anyone know how much they are new?

If they would have just used good glue, I would have never realized in the first place

I concur with all the above. You can not reattach them. You need replacement plastic hoops

The same thing happened to me!!! I had my top replaced and they used some type of black adhesive to bond the 2 plastic covers together. The problem is this was 2 years ago and the adhesive worked up until recently because I never noticed it until now. Shoot! So the only way to fix this is replacing the bar covers? It's going to be such a headache going back now...

Actually, you need replacement roll hoops (the metal part as well as the plastic part which covers them). You can't buy just the plastic. List price is $170 from Honda in the USA. Each.

You can try a good plastic epoxy. It might last you for another two years. Or it might not.

The permanent fix is to buy new hoops.

ouch, they are not going to be happy to hear that.
thanks Mike!

Right now they are half attached and at the top of them there is a 1" gap or so. I can pull on it and stretch that out to 2-3". Just looks terrible
