Default Off with a Bad Start

Hello Everyone ! I've been hovering this site for some time and decided to go out and try my luck with a MY00 MCB ! When i Bought the Car it was on Tip-Top Condition Mechanicaly at least. Just the Clutch Buzz was there and that was understandable 100.000 Km on the odo Well after some abuse the 2nd gear started to grind now and then well i supose that was understandable too until i grind a couple of time and now i cant get into 2nd unless i time my shift and that only below 6k well i can understand all those stuff its a used car anyways ! Now for my main Question ( I did use the search function btw ! ) the engine was working smooth reaaaally smooth and i didnt really hammer it all the time on the limiter. Well after about 1k km's i filled with some extra oil cause i was missing like a litre or so ( I was prepared for that ) but the thing is i didnt remember what oil was inside to begin with so i filled in some Shell racing 5-40w fully synthetic and after 500Km or so the Valvetrain Started to rattle like a bitch ! and not just on idle or warm startup or anything it Rattles all the time ! the revz go up the rattle goes up ! it does pull strong and stuff but i dunno :/ I've order a New Honda Oil Filter and some Motul 300V do u think the rattling could be cause by the weird oil mix ? Or i've damaged my Valvetrain ?

1)clutch buzz is harmless, i got used to it and that's that. you can throw money at it but most of us just crank up the stereo volume

2)no comment on grinding second, well, user error=can be a real b0tch.
try gmsmfm, see if it will soften the grinds

3)what weight your local dealer recommend? in here we use 10w30(california), but mixing it will not cause vibration that bad. you might be overfilling it alot or something is wrong with the car. Sometime the oil drain is very slow esp. when the weather is cold, so you can't really have an accurate reading on oil level right after you shut off the car.

it could be alot of thing, please make it very detail, since we can't actually test your car over the internet. perhaps a good quality sound clips?

I'll try a sound Clip if fresh oil doesnt solve the problem this afternoon but if i try and explain in a better manner. It Sounds all the time the way the engine sounds when u fire it up cold with low engine oil ! ( Well not that harsh) I wanna believe its the oil mix inside the engine that doesnt provide the adequate lubrication but i'm prepared for the worst ( Mentaly not Financialy ) anyone had a similar problem ? Honda Dealership proposes Motul 300V ! btw the engine doesnt really vibrate bad its just the valvetrain that's started to get my attention. tnx in advance for any replies

There's a sound clip posted recently of the TCT (timing chain tensioner). That may be the rattle you're talking about. A number of people are having this problem and it's a pretty easy fix.

Here's the thread:

I would have changed the oil entirely...

Who knows the oil inside was ordinary no synth oil etc...

I don't like mixing oils..

wth it sounds like that but not that bad yet at least. i thought it could be the rocker arms but now i am kinda getting confused :/. Could it be that the TCT is "Starting" to fail and will end up sounding just like in the vid ?

If it comes back, think about the TCT. There have been reports of an oil change being a temp fix.
