sup guys well the ap2 is running great and iv put about 400 miles on her already and def solid. the oil is at 50% (according to the dash) when should i get the changing the oil? and also what brand of oil do you guys prefer ? ( 34000 miles on her ) thanks for the input

 

i use castrol Edge 10w 30
people are gonna tell you to read the oil journals. lots of good info.

 

Looks like you didnt reset the oil life indicator. I personally change the oil like ever 3000 to 3500 miles. I do this case i vtec every minute! I also use mobil 1 10-30.

 

Change it when it gets to 5%. Not going to gain anything by changing it early.

k i found the articles but u know on the ap2s it tells you what percentage the oil is at - ( oil life ? ) thats what i was curious about -

I'm curious, cause i have an ap1, we have what's called a "maint required light" and all it is is a reminder that comes on automatically at about 7500 miles regardless of the type of oil that you use or the condition of the oil. Just curious to know what does the ap2 manual say regarding this light. I guess what i'm asking is if anyone can quote what the manual says.

 

AP2 also have that light, up until 2006. The minder does a bit more to look at how the car is driven vs simple mileage, but it still seems that people with 06+ models are getting to at least 7,500 mi between changes. That just tells me that an earlier S could go longer than the default 7,500 value.

 

So, you use your tires every minute as well - are you changing them after 30% usage as well?
