I have a hard time getting mine off. I have to use a screwdriver and tap on it to get it loose.

That piece of cork is awesome. Write "Spoon" on it and see if you can start a new trend.

Good thing you found out quick. I changed my oil one time, forgot to put the cap on. Went for a spirited drive and started smelling something burning
(This was with my DD Civic no s2k). Popped the hood and oil was EVERYWHERE. Either way, good luck getting to your cap!

WOW. Mines always almost to hard to get off. I've actually had to let the motor cool off just to get it off.

A tightened cap will not come off. I think people forget to put it back on, and it falls down on top of the trans where it makes noise. It will not fall out on its own.

"oil cap missing and weird noise from the car" is a textbook mistake on the s2k and had been reported many times.

i remember when i didnt screw the oil cap fully when i checked the oil. i heard this big pop and couldnt find it for a day. Then i waited until the car was cool and it was by the firewall on top of the tranny behind the engine. i got a hanger and fished it out.

I thought I was the only one who did this! Glad to hear others have fallen victim.

Though, mine fell somewhere between the tranny bellhousing and the runners on the header. I was able to fish it out with a bent coat hanger and some double-sided duct tape.
