Default Oil Change

Ive had my S2000 for about 3 months now and the change oil light has came up with oil life at 15% , I have about 4300 miles on it right now.. and just wondering when I should do my first oil change, and where should i go? Do I have to take it to Honda?

Fresh oil never hurts a car. Im not sure if your honda cvame with a break in oil as some do. just give your dealer a call and see what they say. Enjoy! and I hope your beating on it by now..

You are not bound by Honda to take your car exclusively to them in order to keep your warranty valid. They provide a registered online forum for maintenance and record keeping......here....

Owner Link

Just enter your info as you get the car serviced and your golden. Take it to whomever you like. Just make sure they use the OEM filter (PCX-004) and not some dinky little thing.

I think 10% on the "oil minder" is the longest they want you to go. You'll also need to look up resetting the counter if you have it done outside of Honduh.

Congrats,
Hockey

you may hear that the original oil has break-in additives that should be left in the car for the first 7,500.

there's been arguments back n forth...but do further research and make your decision.

I changed my oil @ 5,000 and @ 3,000 ever since. Some may say that its excessive.

you want to finish the break in fluid first, wait until it's 7500miles.

don't pour in syn oil until the 3rd oil change or after 10k.

Why don't you read your freaking manual? The guys suggesting that you leave the factory fill in for 7500 miles are completely bogus. The manual will instruct you when to change the oil, use it.

FINALLY, last but not least, not a single post in this thread was made by someone who owns an 06+ with an OLM. Mine included. Read your manual, your car's OLM knows better than a bunch of wannabe '06+ owners on the interwebs.
