More than a few S2000s have oil burning issues with M1. Just something about that oil...

not just s2000's, most of Honda's high revving VTEC engines seem to burn mobil 1

Switching to Amsoil stopped my little oil consumption on my AP2.

4 quarts is a lot of oil. I used to burn about a quart over 8k miles when I used M1. I switched to Valvoline and it seems to burn less that an 1/8.

170k miles on my ap1 and I've been using mobil 1 and I usually loose between 1-2 quarts every oil change. I've gotten used to checking it every now and then.
I might go a different route this oil change and try out the castrol or a diff brand to see if I see the same type of consumption.
