Default Oil Drain Bolt Thread Size

I've searched and can't find it. Anyone know the size and thread pitch of the oil drain bolt?

I was actually looking at a magnetic oil drain bolt from a company called "kics" http://www.iptuned.com/PhotoGallery.asp?Pr...tCode=KICSWMAG2 and I noticed the M14x 1.5 on the package. I had no way knowing if it was correct. Thanks for the info.

Whats the M14 if the thread pitch is 1.5? I know the stock bolt head is 17mm.

As I (a programmer) understand/assumes it.

M is for Metric, 14 is the size of the bolt shaft (14mm) and the 1.5 is the thread pitch. My guess is 1.5mm per revolution?

A typical M10 bolt would have a 17 mm. hex head.

IMO the drain bolt is a "custom" made bolt.
M14 x 1.5 is not a common size.
And yes, the pitch is in mm.

Uhm I'm pretty sure a typical M10 bolt has a 14 head IIRC. M12's have 17.

not that it makes a diference as the oil one is special but...
hex bolt or hex cap screw (DIN933)
m10x1.5 is a 17 width across flats.
you will often find hex flange bolts in use though with the lip under the head, these are 14 across flats for a m10 but not always as they come in varying grades.
m12 flange are sometime 17 but also 15 or 18.
