After reading the article by Marucci, I decided to go with Mobil 1. It's far superior to all the other filters IMO. I had a Canadian Honda filter on for about 8 miles then switched as soon as the local auto parts store had M1-104 filters in stock. I run reg Castrol GTX too

There is a fine line between filter efficiency and flow. The Mobil 1 oil filter is on the efficient spectrum with a rating of 98% @ 10 microns. As a result fo the high efficiency, it doesn't flow as much as other filters. If you use the Mobil 1, it is recommended you change it every 3000miles. If used on extended drain intervals, the filtering efficiency can hurt the engine since the filter element will plug up fast and further reduce flow.

There was a test where the Mobil 1 went again a Fram and the Fram had better wear numbers since it was an extended drain interval. The hypothesis there is that the Mobil 1 plugged up and didn't flow as well causing more wear.

I use made-in-North-America OEM filters for the CR-V and S2000.

I use PureOne on my beater... it's a really good filter and matches the cap wrench adapter of the Honda. This is important because of where it is located.

Pure One all the way. 'Been using 'em since the first month they debuted and
have nothing but to report. Best filter I've ever used.

OEM. I'm sure there are better filters out there, but since I do my own oil changes, I want Honda to have as little ammunition as possible void my warranty.

That is a good reason. However, the OEM Honda Canada oil filters are made by Fram, probably worse construction out of all available filters.

Honda (Canada) 15400-PT7-005 - Fram
Honda (Japan) 15400-PR3-014 - Toyo Roki
Honda (USA) 15400-P0H-305 - Filtech USA
HAMP (Japan) H1540-PR3-408 -? can't read Japanse

I use the oversized Mobil1 M105; adds about half a quart capacity to the system, and should have more flow capability than the OEM-sized M104.
