This taking a reading while engine is hot is new to me. Ive always been told to take it after the car has been sitting for a while so its all drained. So.... hot or cold reading? does it matter that much?

 

filling a little passed H isnt a problem. ive done it many times and cars running strong. plus most of the time ull burn them off. just make sure ur not filling a whole extra quart in

 

You know what we all have had some moments. I remember one of my first threads on this site was whether or not a full tank of gas vs. an empty tank of gas could explain why all these AP1 cars are spinning out of control

Some people act like they were born with all the knowledge from birth. What is so great about a guy like Billman is his ability to maintain an attitude so cool, open and positive. we can definately learn a thing or two from Billmans approach. If we ceased questioning things as individuals and ceased to have an open mind we would never learn anything or progress.

You got that right Starchie , Hell the first day I brought home my S2000 I rotated the tires/rims front to back and never realized they were different sizes, 2 weeks ago I removed and reinstalled a motor and all that goes with that. It just takes a bit of time to get used to the nuances of this vehicle, we've got all the time in the world to talk about it. No sweat IMO.

I checked mine 2 hours after shut off, was 2 X's down, added a quart now she's good to go.

 

If it was 2 X's down, adding a quart would be more than 1/2 quart over fill, or no? As all 5 X's in one quart.

 

After adding a quart I showed right at the H. I didn't see any trace of overfill on the dipstick. I'm assuming its right, I can run outside and check it right now. It's been about an hour since I drove it and it has only gone about ~300 miles since I added the quart.
