This can't be a coincidence because I am going through the exact same thing. I bought a 6 pack from HandA and it seems like half of the filters so far have been causing this issue. I am tempted to try out an after market filter to see if these filters are defective. I never had this problem with Bosch filters. I have an oil pressure gauge hooked up and I know my pressure is good so I am thinking it must be the filters.

This can be an issue. Photos of these filters would be nice, they may be counterfeit.

It should be followed up.

My issue was resolved when I changed the filter, I suspect it was faulty.

OEM, I think like Jfusion mentioned earlier, the ADV might not have been sealing correctly or something along those lines.

Default Update!!

ik this is a really old thread but it’s the only one I’ve found that talks about the issues I’m having. My car knocks on startup for about 1 second and the oil light stays on for the duration of the knock. I have a video link I’ll attach of my exact car. I’ve changed the oil filter twice with brand new Honda filters and still have the knock on startup. If I let the car crank for a second and then start it it won’t knock so for some reason my cars not getting oil or something on startups. Any help would be apprecaited
heres a link to the video

Bad oil filter drainback valve. Supposed to hold oil in passages, so immediate oil pressure next startup. If valve is bad, passages drain, next startup, has to fill them back up before pressure.

Normally a new filter cures it. Guessing you got a bad batch of filters.

This valve is built-in to the oil filter?

Thanks!
