Ultra flange comes out of the can a little thicker than I expected. I applied the Ultra Flange as indicated in the manual, laid a straight line around the pan, watched out for gobbing, and did not smooth it out with my finger. I have a little of the gasket coming through on the outside, but wander about the inside. If too much of the gasket seeps inside, can it possibly damage the internals?
I don't believe so, the sealant/silicone is going to harden on the inside and I doubt oil is gonna be strong enough to move that stuff. I used Honda bond on mine and left it sit for like 3-4 days before i put oil in it. LOL I waited mostly cause I was swapping the turbo kit and installed an Inline Pro stage 2 kit and I had the oil pan tapped by inline Pro for their drain line and had an oil baffle installed in case I tracked my car. But I have not had a single issue/leak from my oil pan since Sept 2012 when I did it and she is rolling on 5-6K miles later.

yeah there isn't much you can hurt if some oozes towards the interior, some material will go in that direction, no worries.

Thanks for the reply's!

I have driven the car for maybe 50 miles, and have no issues.

On a side note...

When I took the old pan off, I noticed that there were two gaskets, one inner, and a outer. I find it odd that the car would come from the factory that way, deviating from the repair/service manual.

That's just the gasket material squeezing in both directions, I am pretty sure they just put the oil pan on without and wait time during the bolt tightening sequence, so the material is pretty thin in the middle and two thicker lines on the inside and outside edge around the perimeter of the pan.

Most say it takes 24hrs for full cure.

Do I have to move anything out the way other then the support bar? Someone mention moving an AC unit or something like that somewhere.

Yes support bar needs to be removed and the ac bracket has to be unbolted or compressor unbolted from bracket. It's not too difficult. There are several pan bolts just make sure you have all of them before you start prying.

Actually inside is where it is most important for the sealant it creates a "dogbone" inside and helps prevent any oil from reaching the seam between the pan and the lower block. I work at a Honda engine plant and this is something we actually check to ensure there is sealant inside the parts whether it be oil pan or chaincase etc.
