Unhappy oil seeping through valve cover

i searched and couldnt find anything regarding my issue.
did a valve adjustment the other day. started noticing white smoke from under the hood, popped it open, looked where the smoke was coming from, sure enough oil was leaking from rear passenger side of the valve cover down to the headers. btw the gasket and washers are new. i torqued the bolts down to 12lbs and in sequence shown in the manual.

question, you guys ever use hondabond to seal it up? if so how much and where exactly?

thanks

ikeyballz, hmm thats what i thought too. the valve cover is kinda tough to put back in. from all the banging and pushing probably caused the gasket to move out of place.

question, i noticed the gasket got some "tiny balls" etched into it. does that side go into the cover? im thinking its there to help the gasket stay in place.

another question, read somewhere here that permadex ultra grey is the same thing as hondabond, true?

thanks

Make sure the head is spotless too. One little piece of grit will start a leak.

It's not a Honda, but my buddy uses hondabond with his valve cover gasket. Oh yeah, it's a DSM that put down over 700awhp. Might help, but IDK what the other S2k guys think.

White smoke is not good. Thats coolant. If it is blue smoke then would be oil and maybe a bad valve cover gasket. Spark plug tube seals good? Check all that first.

reporting back, found out the gasket is damaged. the back gear of the cam ripped some of it while putting the cover back on. i dont have an extra one, so i put it in the other way, and sealed that part up with permadex ultra grey. drove it and all is well. just need to put some more oil in, its at the low mark. will order another new gasket soon.

thanks guys
