hey guys, i just got my oil changed today and my friend hooked it up with Mobil 1 Synthetic 15w50 but I DONT THINK that is a right thing to put in this car...is this right or wrong? I am kinda worried so some advice would be great...thanks.

 

You could add one quart of the 15W-50 to the other five quarts of 10W-30 to thicken up your blend a bit, which is what I would do if I were to ever try Mobil 1 because of its reputation for thinness, but you should definitely NOT have a whole motor full of 15W-50.

If you do, I would drain it out and get some 10W-30 or 5W-40 in there immediately. 15W-50 is way too thick.

 

yea, ur supposed to use 10w30. some people use 5w40 but i never saw anyone use 15w50 for their s2k.

 

Might as well use Crisco.

how can i do this myself? or should i go back to the store adn tell em that this isnt' working?

 

what can happen if i leave it as is? I did some research and it said this oil is very good for all kinds of conditions, its a very HIGH performance oil etc etc.

 

oil is too thick....oil pressure will be too high you can blow gaskets, seals etc....
