Has anyone had experience opening up 2004 + taillights? How hard was this, Is it like opening up the headlights?

Taillights for the S2000 are a pain in the assssssssss IMO...no matter the year. So "flat" that folks that have attempted to open them have often cracked the clear covers from the slightest flexing during separation. And if successful in separating, then there's the painful reality that the two halves go together and sealant can be visible (vs. that the headlamp sealant is outta-sight-outta-mind).

I'm not saying that it cannot be done. Its been done (pre '04 that I know of...but again, the "general" nature of the S2000 taillamps means that all years are the same regarding opening/sealing). I believe you can search on Kodakan_4 (sp? ) posts and find a thread where he step-by-stepped his pre-'04 effort. You can also probably PM Dewain_27 and get what-not-to-do's (since Dewain went through a few sets of taillamps before he got his pre '04 effort completed).

Good luck!

Wow excellent info. I was thinking about getting a set and clearing the orange out or tinting it red, but it seems the risk is to much to get good results.
