Over Rev.
I know this was probably posted over 1000 times but I want to ask my personal question.
I'm not sure how fast I was going, but it was pretty decent probably 7-8k rpm when I misshifted from 5th to 4th..... 6th isnt used that much so it doesnt seem to like to slide in that hole. Anyhow I didnt completely let go of the clutch so I dont think it exactly hit redline or OVER it... I depressed the clutch completely before it hit redline. This wouldnt cause any problems for my engine right?
I was analyzing this and concluded that... people w/ fast cars rev up high really quick all the time doesnt mean it would cause engine problems... btw how my flashes on the 9k RPM means you hit redline... just wanna know... just got my s2k and just want to know... please dont flame me

It is impossible to tell from your description, because I could not tell from your post whether you were at redline in 5th when you shifted? If so, you most certainly did over-rev if 4th was engaged - now whether there was damage is another story, since the duration and extent of the clutch engagement is probably only in your memory now, and memory often tries to serve a brighter story (it is calleed cognitive dissonance).
If I were you, I would pull off the head cover, and carefully inspect the valve train for cracks or stress marks, the cam lobes, etc. But that may not reveal anything. If you are not mechanically oriented, any decent Honda tech can give it the once over.
I hope for your sake that Fate has been kind to you, and your story has a happy ending. I did catch 4th once, but far below a redline shift from 5th, and never repeated it. Even in the heat of competition or just a solo Sunday mad drive, I am very deliberate in yanking my Voodoo shift knob to the right and back to find 6th.
Bon chance!

How fast is "all fast"? You'd have to be doing over ~115mph to over-rev 4th gear.

if you didnt release the clutch all the way before you hit redline, you should be fine. dont worry. plus you just got the car, its given that most new owners get a little jibbery at first. its a honda, it'll take alot to mess it up.
