Default OXYGEN SENSOR ISSUE

Hey Guys

Popped into the Honda dealership this morning and picked up a fault with my front Oxygen / Lamda sensor.
After further investigation, found that the wires were sheared.

Got a quote for R 2095 (USD 268)
This is quite steep. Are these sensors car specific or could I go to a parts shop / scrap yard and get an alternative?

Thanks

Yah, I am pretty curious too? Weird stuff I suppose happens.. As for the sensor, I mean, my RSX-S I put a $70.00 USD sensor on it ( Bosch ) and it was perfect. A new sensor every 70K on a car is a good things to do. New o2 sensor's give you better gas mileage like it came from the factory. Just because these work, does not mean they're working at their peak.

If the connector is not compatible, add another 15 minutes to splice the original connector onto the universal.

Thanks bud - will give it a shot

Bought a universal Bosch sensor and popped it in. the CEL is gone.
Before the CEL came on, my car would jerk at times between 1000 and 3000 RPM from pull off - regardless of throttle position.
when the CEL came on, the car drove absolutely smoothly with no jerk. Drove the car for a couple of days before I fitted the new sensor with no issues.
Fitted the new sensor and immediately the jerk was back

Could this be a tuning issue (air/fuel) mixtures?
I have a UNIQ piggyback management.
