Default P0172

Hi everybody,
I am planning on buying a 2005 s2000 with 77000 miles. The car is completely stock. Not a single modification anywhere. Here’s my issue... the car is located 1000 miles away from where I am and I am planning on driving it home. It is throwing the code p0172 engine bank 1 too rich. I tried to do some digging but could not find any “straight forward” answers on how to fix it. The owner says that he rarely drives the car and that the fuel is pretty old in there. I had asked him to drive the car until the gas light turns on and put some new premium into it. Maybe that would help. He’s owned the car for the past 10 years and said it just recently turned on 2 weeks ago. I will also ask him to take a look at the air filter as that might be dirty. The gentleman is in his early 60s and I feel like he does not know much about the cars. Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks, Max

Are the O2 sensors OEM items on your car? May need replacing.
