Default P0411 After running over a small animal ):

Was out in the mountains and a little raccoon or something ran out in front of me, I braked hard but I had no choice but to run over it :/ My left/driver side wheel ran it straight over. I hit it hard enough that the fender liner popped out a bit behind the bumper

The next morning I got a CEL for P0411, could these be related? I hear on this forum that the "air pump is located under the drivers side headlight behind the bumper". Do I need to take the bumper off to even inspect?

Thanks

I have no clue but I was driving on the interstate a few nights ago on the way home from work and I hit a medium sized black bear dead on at 70 mph. It was a very hard hit. Fortunately, I was in my pick up, not the S. Pure luck. Had it been the S I think I would have been lucky to come out of it without injury. Makes you think. The pick up suffered very little damage - new bumper is about it. Amazing given the speed and the weight of that bear.

I am sure it is your air pump, you can pull down your splash guard and look for cracks, they are pretty easy to swap out. I got in to and accident and mine was practically vaporized.

Cool thanks, would the splash guard just be in front of the wheel? I'll send some pictures

Man, glad you're okay
Yeah I can't imagine an S handling an impact with a bear at 70 that well

Heck, put an "air pump delete kit" in there.

I was just looking into those actually, any brand suggestions? I see Ballade sports and Izze
