Default Part Number for air filter ring

I've been looking on MajesticHonda for the part number of this air filter ring, but it's not shown on their diagram of the airbox assembly. Does anyone know what part number this is, or where I can get one? Thanks!

My K&N filter and my previous OEM filter just form-fit snugly into the the intake. There is no ring or clamp on mine.

Maybe someone misplaced your original oem expansion ring, because it is supposed to be there. But you're right that the filter already makes a reasonably tight fit, so how vital this piece is is debatable.

But I would still replace it, if there is even a chance unfiltered air might get into the engine.

Sorry op, I don't have a pn.

yea I just purchased an S2000, so I'm replacing all the fluids, air filters, etc and noticed that this ring was missing, so I was hoping someone here could help me out. Appreciate it!

Every Honda parts site indicates this only fits the 2006 and later cars (DBW).

ahh that would make sense. It should, however fit no problem on my 04, or is there no need to run one on a stock intake?

Well, if it didn't come with one... don't bother. That would be my opinion.

How do we know if it didn't come with one?

A PO could have discarded or misplaced it.

That its not listed online for these years could be an issue with translating parts fiche into online parts web pages, or even a problem with the source parts list.

Why would there be a designed in groove for the ring to go if there wasn't supposed to be a ring?
