Default A-Pillar question...?

Getting ready to install Autometer gauges(oil press.+air/fuel ratio)on an Autometer A-pillar;have all the fittings, and everything!
Reading Autometer instructions, they want me to install the A-pillar,over the OEM one,and drill 4 holes, and hold it with 4 plastic "snaps"(supplied). Not too keen on drilling holes, just in case,I want to go back to stock.
I know,some of you removed the OEM,and install the A-pillar(SOS,i think,in X-viper FAQs),in it's place;How do you hold it There???
Thank's.
Emil.

Is the Autometer pillar a full size? That is, does it completely cover the existing pillar trim? The SOS gauge pillar pod has a screw hole at the very top and you screw it into the small overlap with the top trim piece. Then a black plastic cap fits over the screw head to make it blend in.

You can see that hole here:

If I ever go back to stock, the old trim will fit over the hole.

Yes,it's a full A-pillar,and it's the exact same size as the OEM;covers it perfectly, even has the heating duct cut out,but there's no pin to hold it,as the oem.
They say to install it over the OEM,drill 4,holes,3/16",(2 would be enough,I think)and insert the plastic snaps.(Nice piece, and the black "snaps"would blend in o.k.,I just don't like drilling holes!)
I'll see if I can screw it in the top overlap piece, like you did.
