Go to Oreilly Auto Parts and buy a tube of 3m emblem adhesive (8061). It's in a red tube and is clear. You have to work quick, but it will hold the hoops together. You will have to use a toothpick to clean the seam before it gets too hard though. Run a couple wraps of electrical tape around the top and both sides and leave it for a week to let it cure good. I let it cure while it was in the car.

On a side note: many think the hoops are joined with electric current but I think they use induction looking at the center loop. If someone has a pure induction oven at home, I bet they cold weld the hoops back together space permitting.

Thanks, SgtB! I didn't know that rollhoops come off by unscrewing the bolts on the bottom of them, without having to remove the plastic garnish, and busted the clips.

This has been discussed before and the general consensus is that it's very difficult to get the plastic to bond in a reliable manner. I used electrical tape wound around each hoop in a couple of locations. Looks ratty, but it works.

I read that too, but there is no such thing as unbondable plastic. Pull the wires out to give you more surface area. You need to pour the adhesive into the seam, stick it together for about a minute, and the scrape the excess out with a toothpick. The 3m is nice because it bonds quick, but stays gooey for a good five minutes so you can clean it up. My hoop has been bonds since january.
