Default Please Help - Heater Problem!

I don't remember the last time I tried to use the heater, but I tried tonight, and got no heat. The fan and A/C work fine. Both of the 30 AMP fuses in the box under the hood were okay, but I didn't have time to check the 7.5AMP fuses in the kick panel. I'll get to those tomorrow after school. I'm really worried, because we put an alarm in a couple of months ago, and I'm hoping it's not related.

Does anyone know if there is a separate fuse for the heater temp control, and which one it is?

Is there something else I should be checking?

Did you end up installing the J's engine damper? If so you might want to pm dms2k. He mentioned the other day that when we put the j's heatshield in, it somehow messed up his heater. I don't have the details though.

The HOT/COLD temp knob is independent of fuses. It is a cable actuated device that rotates a valve open/close in your incoming water line. You will find it near the battery side and near the firewall. I'll bet that something has prevented the slider on that valve to move. You may have a cable that has slipped through its attachment anchor.
If you need heat right away, just move it manually to the full HOT position till you can attend to it.

Like he said. Check between the battery and the heat shield. The hot/cold is switched by a cable, and that cable might be rubbing against the heat shield.

Thanks, you guys!

The J's heatshield was pressed up against the lever for the heater switch under the hood.

The J's heatshield has caused too many problems. I'm going to modify my OEM heatshield, and reinstall it with the J's engine damper. Another waste of money.
