After I bumped it, I realized that I may have found the answer. From doing a lot of research, I believe the tapping you and I hear is just the fuel injectors of the engine. I see you posted that above as well. From what I heard, they are extremely loud on these cars. Also it could just be a rattle under the dash, that's why when you step out of the car we don't hear it anymore. A compression test will tell you a lot, that's what I'm going to do after I adjust my valves, and check the retainers. It's been so cold here in PA you can't do anything though

 

Have you tried checking the rear wheel bearing? It could be on its way out. The noise will get louder with more miles on it.

btw don't rely solely on the wheel shaking method.
