Default popping axle

ok i have now replaced my axle nuts twice, both times with new axle nuts, both times to 220lbs and staked, and within a few weeks they were clicking again, especially when going into reverse. so next i took it to a mechanic i trust, spun the wheels and they are dead silent (nor do i get a hum at a certain speed) and there is no play whatsoever, in the wheel or in the cv boot, and the cv boots are still tight with no tears. i suggested replacing my bearings anyways but he doesnt want me to guess then have the problem return right after. what to do?

I have the same issue. Mine was diagnosed by my dealer as "pad shift" within the calipers. I ONLY get the clicking/knocking noise when I am changing direction (drifting back in reverse, tap breaks to slow you down, *CLACK NOISE* when I tap the breaks, toss it into 1st while slowly rolling back (letting the clutch take the brunt of the momentum shift), *CLACK NOISE* again if I tap the breaks while moving forward.

My pads shift when changing directions. I think it has to do with the spring mechanism/piece that holds the pad off of the caliper.

I had my rear brakes changed under the factory warranty because of the issue (new caliper assemblies, no new rotors). Still happenening.

Lemme know what you find. Its more annoying that anything else...
