Default Ported Cylinder Head Pics

I will get some better pics later as well as a flowsheet, but I can tell you that the exhaust picked up something like 30+ cfm.

Here are a few teaser pics for you guys... sorry for the camera phone.

Should pick up about 700-900+ rpm, so we are hoping to turn about 10.5k rpm...

Should be a pretty fun NA motor!

looks good - but just because your able to rev that high - doesnt mean youre going to PULL that high
which cams are you using? stock valvetrain?

* * im not trying to start an argument - im just asking, please dont "read" into my response * *
revving that high would only sound dope if you were...say...UNBOLTED@! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!

The valves are 1mm oversize and running dual springs with Ti retainers. Right now we are going to keep it at factory redline until we go with AEM EMS, but with the increase in port cross sectional area it will allow for additional RPM.

I understand that 10.5k is a crazy high number, but this is still a DD, so that wont be seen but every so often.

The cams are stock for now (which is also a limiting factor) but due to the lack of cam cores, we cant really get what we want. Shelf cams are pretty silly on ported heads due to the simple nature that all ported heads are different. Once cam cores are available, we will get a custom ground cam. Also, billet custom cams are in the 2k+ pricerange, so that is also out of the question.

So yes, it will PULL to 10k+... I understand portflow dynamics and this head should peak over 9k. So shifting at 10.5 is a pretty high estimate, but it should still make good power that high.

Stock bottom end? I have no idea where the limits on this engine are, but a 10.5k engine in a car is something I find fascinating - please keep us updated!

Is it my imagination or is there a breakthrough hole in the runner in the first picture?

Hallucinations.

It's part of the smog system where the air is injected when cold to help heat up the catalytic converter.
