Is it possible to do a 'fly by wire' to throttle cable conversion?

Maybe the original poster last left the building?

I have likely driven over 1000 DBW S2000s. None of them have exhibited any delay in throttle response.

To answer the OPs question, yes you can convert to cable, but it would be a great deal of work, due to the overlapping system integration.

To solve your problem, there are many companies that offer simple plug-n-play solutions that remap and SPEED UP the throttle as it relates to pedal position. It will literally react faster than a cable.

I have had one on my Ridgeline line for 90,000 miles.

An older lady for one reason or another has a 2008 in pristine condition in a container in her backyard. (go figure) She is going to give me what I perceive to be a great deal on such a clean s2000.
2008 + pristine condition + great deal = Write the Check!

Take Billman's advice on the throttle, he's driven more AP2V2 cars (lingo for 2006+ cars) than the rest of us combined. 2008 has all the bells and whistles including stability assist, traction control (both can be switched Off if you want to slide coming out of the round-abouts in the rain!), and those AP2V3 wheels that make my knees weak.

The DBW cars are FlashPro tunable for a lower VTEC for significant more mid range power (mine kicks in at 3600, not 6000!) -- in the rpm band we actually drive the car. AP1 engine rev limiter actually trips at 8900 and the same FlashPro tune can safely run 8400 rpm in my AP2 DBW -- what's 500 revs among friends?

DBW throttle response in other cars can feel different. No throttle lag in my Ford Expedition nor my wife's Subaru.

maybe what youre feeling is an ap1 flywheel being considerably lighter than the ap2 flywheel rather than the dbw.

This is a possibility. I have seen this on other cars, where people claimed a DBW lag when in fact, a lightweight flywheel "solved" their issue.

But really I think the response wanted is "sure OP whatever you have already determined is the answer you want to hear is the answer". Strange conversation to say the least.

Great point. @CouchHobo , have you driven an ap1? Or DBW car with an ap1 flywheel?

they haven't been back since the 24th. the peanut gallery scared 'em off.

chances are they haven't driven ANY s2000's and just went off the general "electronic throttle bad!".

Hmmm idk if there was much peanut gallerying going on.

The same comments Billman made were made above. Some people even went into surface depth about the conversion itself.

OP just refused to acknowledge, then kept posting the same troll bait, attempt at gaslighting answers.

Read the original post. It all smacks of troll thread.

Either that, or the OP was massively autistic or something, and we weren't able to answer his question with the pinpoint specificity he was looking for. In which case, I feel like a jerk for calling him a troll.

I think you are right and I believe we have a few of those floating around recently on the site. Same sort of reaction/behavior when people reply, just different user names.
