Possible final gear?
Hi thanks in advance, I just purchase a stock s2000, but Ive driven around noticing that my speed is not correct, as well when I drive next to my other friends s2k my mileage is off by quite a bit, also I have better low end acceleration. All of this points me to assuming I have a final gear installed. But... if not is there possibly something wrong with my car? Thanks again.
It sounds like it is.
GPS your actual speed, there's a chart on here somewhere that shows you the conversion factor and you can tell what gears you have.
Modifry makes an easy to install box that will correct it and your odo for you.

-Match mark the rear wheels to the backing plates.
-mark the driveshat at 6 oclock.
-turn the back wheels together one revolution (use the matchmarks to get exactly one turn) while counting the amount of driveshaft revolutions.
if the drive shaft turns 4.10 times, you're stock.
If it turns barely more than 4 and a half turns (4.56) ta-da
if it turns barely more than 4 and 3/4 turns (4.77)
