Default power and mpg drop

This year, I noticed my 06 S felt slower. I thought it was my imagination, but then after a few tanks this year I noticed my mpg had dropped as well. I got 19mpg with a mix of city/highway on one tank. I then took the car on a highway road trip recently, and I still managed only 23mpg at 70-75mph. I used to average 25mpg+, and over 30mpg highway in my 01, and this 06 yielded me 25+mpg previously when I did baby it. Most of the time I never paid attention to gas mileage since I drive the car and enjoy it like it should be enjoyed, but due to the feeling of power lost I looked into it.

I never did get the mpg like I did in my 01, but on this 06, it's getting worse. It feels like I am running rich, as the car has also bogged on me a couple times in low rpms starting out recently. Ashame it's way past warranty now, but car only has 10k miles on it. Just wondering what this could possibly be. It seems to have lost it's ummph, and takes longer to hit vtec than previously. Thanks!!

Unless theres an actual problem (which I doubt at 10k miles), it honestly just sounds like the air filter...

The air filter looks new, even at 10k miles. Barely any dust or dirt, or any sign of it being bad, but I will replace it anyway. I can also try a different gas station. I've been using Shell V Power 93 octane from the same gas station this year. Due to the fact that it bogged on me a few times like it was gonna die, it feels sluggish and the mpg drop tells me something isn't right. Would be nice if it's just an air filter. Thanks!!

Try running a injector cleaner too just incase? Also FWIW and I've got my flamesuit on, I've had less than desireable experiences with Shell as well as a number of friends. Maybe that was just the stations, I don't know.

Ethanol has caused a decrease in my MPG. Almost 5mpg.

That would mean 3 bad tanks of gas in a row though. I'll see what a new gas station does, along with a new air filter.

Yeah, I was thinking that. Perhaps it's increased, and I'm filling it up with high ethanol winter gas still. Would that effect performance as well?

Every time I change my plugs, oil, clean my filter I get a noticeable 1-2mpg bump in my mpg & lessened bogging. After iridium plugs started giving me the same bogging problems I went with copper electrode and I just swap it out every oil change. Works really well for me..iridium = 20 bucks +, coppers are about 2-4 ...5-10x the amount of changing, less chances of it seizing, etc.
