Default Power pause?

I usually don't take my car over 5000 RPM. So I haven't noticed any real problem till today when I took it to 7500 RPM. During the accel I noticed that my car won't push forward as hard and has something like a drag or a pause during 6000-7000 rpm. Whatz going on?

Couple of possibilities come to mind:

1) MAP sensor. Do a search.

2) If the car isn't warmed up there is a rev limiter that won't let you go into VTEC.

P.S. - You should really consider revving over 5 grand on a more regular basis. You're wasting the best rev range the car possesses.

How can you even say such a thing. Especially with a name like HondaS2000Tuner?

I'm sorry, I can't be of any more help.

HAHAHA you guys are right. Gotta stop driving like I'm driving mrs. Daisy! I'll fiddle around with here and there and see if the pause stops.

The Vtec engages perfectly. My S is warmed up every morning.

Were you WOT? VTEC works best at WOT. If you were part throttle, it is quite conceivable you could get a small "lump" in and around VTEC as the cams allow the engine to draw in more "juice".

xviper is right, vtec engagement is dependent of throttle position. WOT will give you better results in VTEC.

Did you try whacking the MAP sensor yet?

Also, check your plug gaps and condition.
