I'd say brakes, safety bits and suspension would be good prep equipment for a SC.

Damn, I guess I'm a crappy driver.

Oh well, I'm sure my 11 psi and tune would've spun the stock clutch eventually anyways.

That could be very possible. The stock clutch should only be suffcient for 350 horsepower give or take. If the clutch starts to spin at high RPMs (when you are making the most power) in 3rd or 4th gear, then its either time to replace the clutch or upgrade.

However, how many SC'd or Turbo cars are making 350whp? Not many.

I read a lot of posts where indicating as you have that the stock clutch will be fine with a 'stock' sc kit, however my car is doing exactly what you are describing here.

I would probably look at the Comptech reinforced diff. housing, and gears first.

Hey guy's, I could really use your knowledge and insight. Do I NEED to replace my clutch if I go with a Comptech S/C? As far as my driving, I really do not launch my car, well at least not yet anyway, and I'm fairly confident to say I can shift pretty good. My car only has 8K miles on it, I just dont want to blow cash on something that dosent need to be replaced untill it's time. If it's a must....of course I would, but it seems like some of you out there have your stock clutches and are happy with them.

Any feedback woud be appreciated!

YELOSCREAMER, you should "test" you clutch first before making that assessment. Is it still strong? Or does is seem like it is slipping a bit now? It is possible to change the clutch without removing the S/C, so why not just leave it till you "need" it.
I'm still on my stock clutch - 25K miles, the last 7K with blower, clutch still fine. "jerrypetersen" has had his blower for much longer and still has his stock clutch.
Change it at the first sign of "consistent" clutch slip.

Thanks XVIPER: That was exactly my point. My stock clutch is in good condition as of now and dosent slip at all. I've all ready taken enough perfectly good parts off this car. Granted...I wanted to, but the cost of the S/C is enough for right now. The clutch/flywheel was really going to put a strain on the old budget.

Thanks again!
