Default Preventative/catch up maintence

I just picked up my MY00 silverstone with 90K miles on it last week. I am going to go ahead and replace all fluids, air filter, and put in new plugs. I was wondering how difficult it is to replace the autotensioner. I will be doing all maintence myself. It isn't showing any signs of trouble but I think I would rather go ahead and replace it before it becomes a problem. Also wondering what types of plugs everone is running. I was planning on using the NGK it calls for or maybe something that will perform a little better(and get a little better gas mileage). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

When the OP said "autotensioner", I think he was referring to the TCT...

Stick with the stock NGK's as they are good plugs.

Everyone I've talked to said the TCT replacement was pretty easy. There are a few DIY's around that explains everything.

As far as the Seat locks are concerned, I believe there is a member that still sells them. Do a search for "seat locks" and you should find his name. I'm also sure someone will probably chime in and post his name...

Good luck and congrats on the purchase!

stick with the OEM NGK plugs

pm Kodakan_4 for the seat locks

dont change the TCT just to change it, leave it in there until it starts to make noise. Some of the newer replacements are not lasting as long as the original one that was in there. My original one lasted for about 45k and the second one i put in lasted less than 10k.

I figured the original spec NGK's would be best. I'll most likely hold off on the TCT if/when it becomes a problem. I'll feel a lot more comfortable once I change everything. I have documentation of maintence from previous owner but that doesn't tell the complete story. Any thoughts about air filter replacements?

perform a valve adjustment, I just did it yesterday and it was wicked easy, took me 3 hours. Car sounds different now and feels very smooth.

Also clean your IACV and your PCV valve w/ brake cleaner.
