Default Problem when going into VTEC

I got a problem. When the car goes into VTEC it bogs bad, it feels like the car doesn't want to accelerate. The car seems normal at idle and below VTEC. I tried raising and lowering VTEC to see if the problem follows and it does. The last time I drove it was last Sunday and it was fine then I took it out this past saturday and thats when I noticed the problem. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Oh yeah I have a vortech SC, VAFC, and a T1R exhaust.
Thanks!

i'm assuming you check the oil level already... you might also try smacking the map sensor

And if that doesn't work, you might try taking the VAFC out of the equation entirely. Or, at the very least, verify that the settings aren't out of whack.

Once you rule out these things, check out your fuel delivery. I had just recently posted that my friend had a problem with Vtec sputtering, turns out it was a clogged fuel filter!

Trace all your vacuum/boost lines. The Vortech FMU uses boost to know when to push more fuel.

I've had the SC for a year and a half now and have not had any problems. So I'm sure all the vacuum/boost lines are ok, but I'll take a look just incase.

I'd also check all of your wiring connections to the Timing controller and the Map sensor voltage clamp. (the small black box)

A year and a half may be enough time for the hoses to crack at the connection points. If there is a leak, that would affect how the FMU works, but if you have a boost gauge, this should show up there.
(It was only another guess - a bit of a reach but worth a look. Which reminds, mine is the same age. I should go check my hoses too. )
