Default Problems w/ 5th & 6th gears

My car (delivered 1/01) has about 10,100 miles - not a lot of genuinely hard driving, as proven by lots of tread still on all four tires.

Saturday night I found that I was getting grind when I tried to shift into 6th. Was hard to get out of gear also. Then because I was paying close attention, I realized that 5th was a problem as well. Took serious effort to get into or out of both 5th and sixth. No unusual noises or anything.

Anybody have any ideas? Of course I'm gonna drop the car off at the dealer, but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

i took it there they told me to drop it off in the morning hopefully its just that adjustment, mine was a display/test drive car that had 152 miles on it when i rolled out of the dealership, so i know its been dogged before i got it. one of the employees told me they got to drive one and took it on some backroad and redlined 3rd...thanks hopefully that wasnt mine

Checked clutch flued lvel - no problem. Took car to dealer and they say fluid level in tranny ok. "Honda" told them to tear it down to see what was going on after they test drove it and could find no problems. Of course, I'd already told the morons that I'd stopped at a light in 5th and took huge amount of time and effort to get it out and into neutral. I really thought I'd hve to call for a tow or that I'd break the shift lever.

Still waiting on report from dealer as of noon on 8/9/01.

Wish me luck
