Quart Low....little knock
I bought my S2000 with 31,000 miles on it in mid december. I had the oil changed as soon as I got it with synthetic. I have no idea what was in it before. I have changed it once since (3500 miles later) and I am about to change it again, (again 3,500 miles). Each time was with Mobel 1 10w-30. I did lapping days the other day (150 miles of track time) and I burned a quart of oil from when I changed it last till now. I noticed a little knock, so I checked the oil.....quart low.
Is this normal? I have 38,000....so of course it is out of warranty.
But that reminds me, at 35,500 (no kidding) the check engine light came on. The dealer said it was a misfire and reset it. Should this tell me something?

Mine uses a little oil when at the track, but not that much. I was down a half quart in about 300 track miles recently, with a car that uses no oil on the street (19K miles). I'd be more concerned about what caused the misfire code.

I'd be concerned about both. Your rings should be well seated at 30K+ and the engine should be in the prime of it's life. Track use does not abuse the engine so much as it does the chassis and breaks. Your motor is consuming more oil then it should. I'd go back to non-synthetic in an effort to reseat the rings.
As for the engine misfire code. You failed to mention which one? There are five encoded in the S2000. The first P0300 indicates a random misfire condition. It is usually very brief and has been traced back to "bad" gas in the past. P0301-P0304 are cylinder specific (i.e. #1,#2,#3,#4). These four are more serious codes and may indicate a loose spark plug or other anomally specific to that cylinder.

You should never hear a knock from the motor, even if it is misfiring; the knock sensor should detect it long before you hear it and correct it.
It sounds like a serious problem to me, I would take it back to the dealer and demand a closer look at it. You might do a compression or leakdown test; if you heard knock and it was rod knock (not pinging knock) you might have more serious problems.
