Default Question about check Engine lights?

My friend has a GSR and has check engine light. Just wondering if it trues because all these people are telling me different thing.

If you check engine light on maybe just for 02 sensor does it retard your Vtec?

If you speed sensor doesn't work is your VTEC not as strong?

It's true! I had a GS-R and it had a check engine light. So did my Prelude. Most cars usually have a check engine light. Actually, all of the cars I've owned had a check engine light. Anyway, when I got a check engine light lit up I went to my mechanic and had it checked out.

If your friend has a lit up check engine light, it could be anything. Could be vaccuum pressure, could be a loose fuel cap. It could be ANYTHING.

I've never heard of VTEC being retarded.
